
How wonderful is it to be able to grind your own spices, right? Here I prepared my homemade Ras el hanout, a delicious Moroccan spice mix that can be used to enrich any meal preparations. Like this couscous with lamb.

Homemade Ras el hanout, a delicious Moroccan spice mix that can be used to enrich any meal preparations. Full of flavour and so aromatic.

Servings: 4 tablespoon
Ingredients
To grind
- 1 heap tsp coriander seeds
- 1 heap tsp cumin seeds
- 1 cinnamon stick , roughly broken into pieces
- 1 tsp black pepper corns
- 5 cloves
- 8 cardamom pods
- 10 allspice berries (Jamaica pepper corns)
Others
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients to grind in a spice grinder and grind them into powder. Add the ground powder to the rest of the ingredients and mix everything well. Your Ras el hanout spice mix is ready to be used.
