    Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

    BANANA!! ..and chocolate chips, what’s there not to like? Easy and fast recipe to treat your family to some banana goodness.

    You really should give this recipe a try, it would be worth your bananas. When they’re warm, they’re just delish. They taste even better the next day, believe it or not.

    Banana & Chocolate Chips Muffins

    Soft, fluffy and moist banana chocolate muffins. I promise, you will absolutely love these beauties. They're easy to make and taste even better the next day.

    Servings: 12 muffins
    Prep Time: 10 mins
    Cook Time: 18 mins

    Ingredients 

    • 1 ⅔ cup all purpose flour (208 g)
    • ½ cup sugar (100 g)
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 2 teaspoon baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
    • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (175 g)
    • 3 ripe bananas , around 300 g
    • ½ cup vegetable oil (125 ml)
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 large eggs , room temperature
    Prevent your screen from going dark

    Instructions

    • In a bowl, add in flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon powder. Mix well.
    • In another bowl, add 2 tablespoon of flour mixture with chocolate chips and mix well. Set aside.
    • In another bowl, add in peeled ripe bananas and mash into a puree. Add in vegetable oil, vanilla extract and eggs. Whisk just until well combined.
    • Add in flour mixture and mix just to combine. Don't over mix. Finally add in chocolate chips with flour mixture. Give it a final mix to combine.
    • Distribute batter evenly into 12 muffin cups. Bake at 400ºF (200ºC) for 18 minutes or until fully cooked. Enjoy!

    Notes

    These muffins taste even better the next day. Try it.

      i made it with 1/2 cup of sugar, but it was still a bit to sweet for my liking, so 1/3 is probably enough.

      Thank you do much for the recipe I never bake before but would like to try. I bought self raising flour as they don't have normal flour. Would I still need to add Baking Powder and Baking soda ?

        Hi Maria! I'd say yes! Try reducing 1 tsp of baking powder and the rest of the ingredients stay the same. Let me know how it goes!😄

      Hi. Im in Thailand. I never bake any muffin or cake before. Id love to bake this for the 1st time tomorrow!! As i dont have muffin mold or paper cups. Can I use a square cake mold (23 cm x 13 cm) to bake this recipe nstead? If so, will it take longer time to bake ?

      I had a question to ask, if I were to multiply the ingredients 3 times the original how much flour would I need?

      I guess I can work out the rest but would be helpful if you can let me know.

      Is it fine to use either baking soda or baking powder ? Or is it compulsory to use them both ?
      And if i want to put butter , then how much should be the quantity for it.

        You'll need to use both for this recipe. Use 150 g of butter if you want to replace the oil. Hope it helps 🙂
